Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich is in April's Elle Italy. The editorial is lovely, soft and springy. The warm pastel colors give a cozy feeling to all the pictures.

Alice Neel

I love Alice Neel's portraits. They are fairly simple, almost child-like, but with an underlining sadness, giving a human quality to each subject. Neel herself lived a life marked by tragedy and heartache. Neel's first child died before her first birthday. Her second daughter was taken away to live with her husband and his family after their separation. Shortly after he left, Alice Neel suffered a nervous breakdown and was in and out of mental institutions. Despite her personal trials, Alice Neel was a leader in the early feminist movement and became a celebrated artist.

I am thinking about getting some of Alice Neel's art prints
framed and hanging them in a collage. Kind of like this picture.

"The minute I sat in front of a canvas I was happy. Because it
was a world, and I could do what I liked with it." -Alice Neel

Menswear and Sweater Vests

Here are a few menswear photos I had hiding out on my computer. Most were saved to later show my husband and encourage, ok, mildly harass him about a wardrobe change. Being the sweet guy that he is, he would play along and discuss sweater vests and 1950's hairstyles with me.

Lyell

If I had to pick my very favorite clothing line it would be Lyell hands down. Emma Fletcher creates the loveliest clothing I have ever seen. The feminine details and textures are so pretty... now to be able to afford them. To purchase visit here.

Mama Mia Bedroom

I watched Mama Mia and completely fell in love with all the textiles and colors used in the movie. This started me on a search to find inexpensive ethnic print fabric (this is harder than you may think).
